Who is Priya Malik?

Priya Malik is an Indian wrestler who won the Gold Medal in the category of 73 Kg. Her competition was held in Hungary where she was the first Indian who won the gold Medal. She was trained by Anshu Malik.ย 

Priya Malik Early Life

Priya Malik is a resident of the Jind district of Haryana. Her father was in the Indian Army who is also retired. His name is Jai Bhagwan Nidani.

Priya Malik is a player of Chaudhary Bharat Singh Memorial Sports School Nidan. Her coachโ€™s name is Anshu Malik. In 2019ย  Priya Malik won the gold medal in Khelo India.

In the year 2020 Priya Malik has won gold in the National School Games. She won the gold medal in the National Cadet Wrestling Competition held in Patna in the year 2020. She has won medals in many competitions so far.

Priya Malik Wins Gold At World Wrestling Championship

On 25th July 2021, Priya Malik wins Gold for India at the World Wrestling Championship, held in Hungary in the category of 73 kgs, after Mirabai Chanu wins a Silver medal for India at the Tokyo Olympics.

She became the first athlete to win the gold medal for India in the World Wrestling Championship. At the championship held in Budapest, Hungary, Priya beat Belarus by 5-0 and earned gold in the 73 kgs world cadet wrestling championship.
